Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid

At the Motor Show in Geneva, the Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid by Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG of Stuttgart celebrated its world premiere. The drive components of this pioneering hybrid vehicle were developed and supplied by drivetek’s engineers - the electric motors and power electronics.

The active components of the two 60kW electric motors on the front axle of the 911 GT3 R Hybrid come from drivetek. These motors are optimized for high power over a wide speed range. In order to realize these high performance components, drivetek drew on it’s over ten years of experience in the development of electric drives for the automotive market.

The two motor control inverters are enclosed in a highly compact housing. These inverters have been specially designed to withstand the rigors of a harsh racing environment. In addition, our engineers focused much attention on the development of space-saving and redundant position encoders. These encoders allow optimum control of the electrical machine through QUASAR, drivetek’s Motor Control Software.
